Configuring your Assets and Layouts pages
Assets and Layout pages are special page types. While on other pages admins can freely add content, these pages have a predefined configuration on which no extra content can be added. To make changes to the page content, admins can click the configuration icon on the top left in the editor, where the "Add content" icon normally is placed).
Assets
Assets pages are specific page types on which the Assets widget is preconfigured. In the page configuration, some settings can be changed.
- Title: add a title to place on top of the page. The title will have the H1 style of the selected space.
- Description: add some descriptive text about what can be found on the page. The text will have the paragraph style of the selected space.
- Entry point: the entry point (collection of categories) that are listed on the page. Only 1 entry point can be selected.
- Interface language: the language for the interface. Available languages are English, Dutch, French, German, and Spanish.
- Show categories as a sidebar: show the category tree as a sidebar instead of the category dropdown next to the search bar. The 1st level of the category tree will be opened by default.
- Hide empty categories: when checked, empty categories will not be shown in the category tree. Only when uploading or editing assets, empty categories will be visible so you can add assets to these categories.
- Restrict adding tags: when checked, users can only add predefined/existing tags but can not add new tags during upload/edit.
- Restrict adding tags from metadata: when (stock) photos are uploaded, it is possible that the images already have keywords in the IPTC data. With this option checked, these keywords will not be added to the metadata.
- Enable autotagging: when checked, users can use the AI-driven option to generate keywords while editing a single asset.
- Show category breadcrumb: uncheck to hide the breadcrumb below the search bar.
- Hide search bar: check to hide the search bar.
- Hide tabs: when checked, the tabs "Browse assets", "Collections" and "Download queue" will be hidden.
- Hide category dropdown: when checked, the category dropdown is hidden
- Crop thumbnails: when checked, the previews of the assets will fill the thumbnail view completely, some parts of the assets will not be visible.
- Related assets view mode: defines how related assets are presented to the user.
- Carousel (default): a carousel with assets below the asset preview in detail view.
- Masonry: a masonry-like view of the related assets in the metadata section of the detail view.
- List: a simple list view with small thumbnails in the metadata section of the detail view.
- Default sorting option: allows you to change the sorting option for the assets presented. By default, newest uploads are listed first.
- Default sorting order: change between ascending and descending.
Layouts
Layouts pages are specific page types on which the Layouts widget is preconfigured. In the page configuration, some settings can be changed.
- Title: add a title to place on top of the page. The title will have the H1 style of the selected space
- Image: upload an image to be shown next to the title.
- Description: add some descriptive text about the template(s) on the page. The text will have the paragraph style of the selected space
- Link: you can add a link behind the image by adding a URL here. You can link to either a page or a URL.
- Interface language: the language for the interface. Available languages are English, Dutch, French, German, and Spanish.
- Template IDs: a comma-separated list of template ID's for the templates that are available on this page. Admins can find the IDs in the Admin console > Layouts extension > Templates page.
- Show templates carousel: when checked, an overview of the available templates is generated above the document list. Users can click a preview to create a new document from the selected template.
- Show editor column: when checked, the editor column in the document list will be visible. When your templates have collaboration settings, users can select an editor from the dropdown to transfer a document to.
- Show search bar: when enabled, a search bar is added above the document list and users can search for specific documents.
- Hide new document button: when checked, the "New document" button will be hidden and users can not create new documents from the available templates
- Note: make sure to have the carousel hidden as well if you don't want users to be able to create new documents.
- Show documents from: defines which documents are loaded in the document list
- Owner and editor: users will only see documents that they created or that they are editing
- All users: the document list will contain all documents created from the templates listed on the page.
