Using links efficiently on pages

Admins can easily build shortcuts by adding links to text on pages.

After writing the text and selecting the section to which you want to add the link, click the "link" icon. The following alternatives will then be shown:

URL: You can type or paste the URL of another site.

Pages: You can create a link to one of the pages you have in your Kadanza installation. Simply start typing the page name and choose the right option from the drop-down menu.

Email: You can type or paste an email address.

Entry points: When you select this option, a "configure" section appears where you can customize the "Entry point" based on your needs.

File: You can easily upload a file for your users to download.

When you hover over the titles (H1, H2, and H3) on a webpage, a link icon will appear next to the header. By clicking on the link icon, you can easily copy the link to the anchor, which can then be pasted into link elements. This technique allows you to create short links to specific content on the page, with a focus on the header.

Directly linking specific categories & collections by using the URL option

Linking specific categories

You can simplify the process of linking specific categories by using a URL rather than creating separate entry points. You can simply add this URL to the link option.

This can save you time and effort while also reducing the complexity of your page tree. However, to link to specific categories, you will need the URL for that category. In this section, we will show you how to encode this URL.

Step 1

Go to the media library page containing the category you want to link to and copy the page URL: For example: https://demo.kadanza.io/en/kadanza-as-full-brand-portal-en/page/1d8a19da-372f-11ed-b028-12c60aa30ff0

Step 2

Add the following after the URL*: ?assetsLocation=%23%2Foverview%3Fcategory%3D

For example: https://demo.kadanza.io/en/kadanza-as-full-brand-portal-en/page/1d8a19da-372f-11ed-b028-12c60aa30ff0?assetsLocation=%23%2Foverview%3Fcategory%3D

Step 3

Add the category ID to the link. You can get it from the Admin Console, Assets, Categories. For example, we want to link to category ID 8: https://demo.kadanza.io/en/kadanza-as-full-brand-portal-en/page/1d8a19da372f11edb02812c60aa30ff0assetsLocation=%23%2Foverview%3Fcategory%3D8

Linking to the collection overview

To get the link, you can follow these steps:

Step 1

Go to the media library page where you can open the collections and copy the page URL

For example: https://demo.kadanza.io/en/kadanza-as-full-brand-portal-en/page/1d8a19da-372f-11ed-b028-12c60aa30ff0

Step 2

Add the following after the URL*: ?assetsLocation=%23%2Fcollections

For example: https://demo.kadanza.io/en/kadanza-as-full-brand-portal-en/page/1d8a19da-372f-11ed-b028-12c60aa30ff0?assetsLocation=%23%2Fcollections

*In this process, we embed the URL of one website within another and we need to modify certain special characters like #, /, and ?. If both URLs have these characters, it can cause conflicts and make the URLs incompatible. As a result, the web browser won't know which page to load and the URL will become invalid.

That's why we add "?assetsLocation=%23%2Foverview%3Fcategory%3D" to avoid these conflicts.
