Export settings

On this page, admins can see all the export profiles that are created and that can be used in the template configuration.

Documents can be exported as a PDF, as an image (jpg or png). If required, PDFs can be processed using Pitstop Server (via Enfocus), so any type of PDF flavor is possible (high resolution, low resolution, PDF x1a, x4 with crop marks, without crop marks, etc...)

These settings are discussed during the setup workshops, and each template can have different output settings based on the user groups.

Some frequently used export profiles are:

  • Low-resolution PDF
  • High-resolution PDF with crop marks
  • High-resolution PDF without crop marks
  • JPG
  • PNG

You can allow user groups to use one (or more) of the export profiles. For example, the design team can use every export profile to download pdf files, while marketing can only use the “High resolution with crop marks" and the “order at print partner” profiles.

A new export profile can be created from the "New export setting" by entering the following information. Please enter the correct CHILI export profile to configure the settings for the document you want to work with. Users who have access to each export profile can export their documents using this profile.

Once you created an export setting, you can open the export setting detail view. Aside from the information you entered during the profile creation, there are some additional options available.

  • Document approval required: when checked, the document can only be downloaded with this profile if it has the status "Approved". Who is responsible for approving documents is defined in the template configuration.
  • Lock after export: When checked, documents will be locked once an export is triggered. that way, no changes can be made to documents that have been exported. This is usually done to avoid discussion with printers about versioning of files
  • Receive email after export: when checked, an email will be sent to the user who requested the export when the export is ready.
