Spaces

Spaces offer you the flexibility to translate your business structure into separate environments or sections within your Kadanza installation. Spaces are often used to make a clear distinction between (sub-)brands, departments, but are also often used for multi-language content. Each space can have its own navigation structure and branding, Asset categories, Layout templates, etc.

When your organization has multiple spaces, you can use the Launchpad to navigate to each space. Check your Kadanza plan to see how many spaces you can create.

Launchpad example

Creating a space

Click the 'Create new space' button to create a new space within your organization.

In the modal, set

  • Space name: enter the name for this space
  • Access: assign groups that are allowed to access this space. If you want it to be available for all users, select All users
  • Upload space image: use a recognizable image for your space
  • Launchpad tile options: show or hide the text placed on the image. If your logo contains the name, you don't need to add the name as text.

Based on your subscription plan, the number of spaces is limited. If you reach the maximum number of spaces, you'll receive the following message. Contact us if you would like to add spaces to your license plan.

Editing a space

Click the edit button to edit space settings. The same modal as while creating a space will open in which you can update the prefilled values.

The context menu next to a space contains some more actions:

  • Launch space: navigate to the selected space
  • Delete: use this button if you wish to permanently remove your space
  • Launch space

Launchpad and visiting spaces

The Launchpad is a system page that contains visual links to all spaces in your installation. When a user has access to more than one space, he will automatically land on the Launchpad after login (unless redirect after login options are set for a group).

When a user can only access 1 space, the Launchpad is skipped on login.

There are multiple ways to launch a space:

  • Select "Launch space" from the context menu next to the space (admins only)
  • Via the Launchpad
  • Via a link to a page in a space
  • Via the hamburger menu at the upper left of each space

Default content

When configuring a new space, you will notice that it already contains some very basic content. Feel free to reuse these pages and content, or throw them all away and start from scratch.
